ROSSENDALE has been given a business boost after two growing companies moved to larger premises in the borough.

Developer the Hurstwood Group has secured two new tenants for the former Rossendale Chain and Block building off the A56 Haslingden by-pass.

The Hurstwood-owned offices, now known as Grove House in Booth Street, Haslingden, will become the new headquarters for two of Rossendale's fastest growing companies Docu-Scan and International Property Agents.

Docu-Scan specializes in electronic document management and will move from its current base at the New Hall Hey Business Centre.

International Property Agents, which sells and develops holiday, retirement and investment property in Turkey currently has a showroom on Bank Street in Rawtenstall which it will retain.

International Property Agents director Gordon Lyons said: "We needed a bigger base as our team has grown from four people to 20 over the last two years.

"Most of us are from the area so we were keen to stay in Rossendale, and Grove House was perfect from that respect.

"But we also have exciting plans for the new HQ which will make it a magnet for potential clients."

Tracy Clavell-Bate, Hurstwood's head of commercial sales and lettings, said: "Both companies are existing Hurstwood tenants who wanted to stay in Rossendale but, because of their success, were on the lookout for bigger premises.

"Grove House is perfect for their differing needs. It is in a great landmark location and will provide very access for both staff and clients.

"We are delighted that we have been able to keep two of the area's business success stories in the area."

Hurstwood bought the two-story property from Rossendale Chain and Block earlier this year.

The 8,300 sq ft facility has been transformed to provide bespoke office and workroom facilties for the two new tenants. The outside of the buildings has been upgraded with new entrance facilities, new fencing and new windows.
