PETITIONERS against a bridleway in Sunnyhurst Wood have won their battle.
Blackburn with Darwen Council has turned down the plan, to the relief of The Friends of Sunnyhurst Wood.
Dennis Gillibrand, chairman of the group, said: "We are delighted with the decision not to approve the proposal for a bridleway."
The friends argued the route would be dangerous and work would destroy plant life. They submitted a petition containing 1,054 names as well as 12 letters of objection.
