A FLY-tipping officer turned super sleuth after a man was caught on CCTV dumping plastic wire casing outside a former waste disposal site.
Blackburn magistrates heard the car caught on camera had no registered keeper when Simon Robinson made enquiries with the DVLA.
But the officer pursued the matter with the former owner, who had sold the car into the trade, and then a car auction before eventually finding the car parked outside the home of Craig Robinson.
Robinson, 27, of Livesey Branch Road, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to disposing of controlled waste without a licence. He was fined £250 with £200 costs and ordered to pay £65 compensation.
Alan Fairhurst, defending, said when Robinson was contacted he declined to attend for an interview saying he was guilty of the offence.
Robinson said he had nothing to say other than that he shouldn't have done it.
