PENDLE Council is warning dog owners to pick up their dogs' waste.
Coun John David, executive member for the environment, said: "The council is very tough on people who don't clear up after their dogs. We just won't tolerate it, and no one in Pendle should have to put up with it either.
"Over the last year, we've put up 100 extra dog waste bins in places where people walk their dogs to make it easier for them to pick up the waste, bag it and bin it. There are over 600 dog waste bins in Pendle."
Free poop scoop bags are available from council buildings all year round; dog owners are welcome to call in and pick up a supply.
If owners don't clear up dogs' mess in Pendle, they risk getting a fine of £50.
