The cost of meals on wheels delivered by Lancashire County Council is to rise by around three per cent from next month.
County chiefs said that the contract prices had risen by three per cent, meaning they had to pass the bill down to users.
Frozen meals will rise by 2.1 per cent from £2.35 to £2.40, hot meals will go up 3.5 per cent from £2.90 to £3.
Snacks will now cost £1.50 instead of £1.45, up three per cent. And meals in care homes will also rise by 2.1 percent - £2.35 to £2.40.
The changes take effect on Monday July 9.
