A DRINK driver told a court he had jeopardised his job with his "out of character" behaviour.
William Peter Matthew Nolan, 19, was over the limit when police stopped him at about 4am on June 10.
He gave a breath test showing 54 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath - the legal limit is 35, Burnley magistrates heard.
The defendant, of Newchurch Road, Rawtenstall, admitted driving with excess alcohol.
He was fined £190, banned for 12 months and must pay £50 costs. He had no previous convictions.
Nolan told the bench he wanted to apologise.
He said he had let down not only himself, but his family and his employers.
He added: "I have not only put in jeopardy my social life, but more importantly my job.
"It was a split-second decision, which was 100 per cent out of character."
