A MUM and her twin daughters from Darwen have raised £1,300 for Derian House chidren's hospice, near Chorley.
Shop assistant Beryl Thomas, 56, of Hesketh Close, has twice run the London Marathon but this year took part in the ten kilometre Great Manchester Run on May 20.
Beryl, who works at Marks and Spencer in Blackburn, raised £300 for the charity, which supports terminally ill children and their parents.
Her daughters, 25-year-olds Katie and Kelly, raised another £1,000 on a mini cruise to Amsterdam by running raffles, supported by television psychic medium Derek Acorah, from the series Most Haunted', and his fan club members who were on the cruise.
The family decided to raise funds for Derian House after Beryl's niece, Lauren Worthington from Ilfra-combe, Devon, died at home after succumbing to liver cancer in April just days after her 18th birthday.
Mrs Thomas said: "I raised £300 and the money came from staff and customers, friends and family and my daughters have raised £1,000 - all for Derian House.
"My niece, Lauren, died on April 13 from cancer and we wanted to do something local.
"We knew Derian House was for terminally ill children so we said we'd do it for Lauren. I'd like to thank everybody for their donations."
