THE owner of a cat rescue service in Darwen is appealing for jam jars to ensure its continued success.
Animal lover Maureen Savage, 52, runs Moggies Cat Rescue from her home in Stansfield Street and wants to sell jam to bring in some much-needed cash.
But she needs residents to donate their used jars.
She said: "Things are a bit tight but I have got ladies who will make home-made jam. We need jam jars and people have been very kind in the past."
Muareen will sell the jam at Darwen Gala in August and at other community events.
Maureen is facing a crippling veterinary bill of £1,270 in May after taking in a number of injured cats.
May is also the start of kitten season' so Maureen is likely to get inundated with cats and kittens until September.
To help, call her on 01254 708171. Jam jars can be dropped off at Moggies or collected.
