A MAN has been charged with attempted murder after a 22-year-old suffered multiple stab wounds.
Police were called to a disturbance in Redearth Road, Darwen, on Wednesday night at 10.30pm.
The man suffered stab wounds to his back, buttocks, face and head.
He was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital for surgery.
Police said a knife was recovered from the scene.
Det Insp Paul Withers said: "I am appealing for any local residents who saw anything to come forward with information."
Damien Duckworth, 31, of Redearth Road, has been charged with attempted murder, affray and assault.
He was due to appear before Blackburn Magistrates today.
