A BAND set to perform in front of thousands warmed up for a festival by playing in front of 114 people in an East Lancashire pub!
Friday lunchtime The Earlies will make their debut on the main stage at Glastonbury but earlier this week they played the Bridge Brier Huis in Burnley.
The band - Christian Madden and Brandon Carr from Burnley and Texans JM Lapham and Giles Hatton - often rehearse at the pub.
Christian, who puts The Beatles and The Zombies among his musical influences said: "It's really nice to perform at my local in front of a home crowd. The atmosphere was really good"
He added: "I don't know how we managed to get the time slot we did on the main stage at Glastonbury.
"Some real legends have performed there in the past and the slot has also rocketed groups like The Darkness and Goldfrapp to fame.
"I don't think we will ever get the fame they have because we are not a mainstream group but I don't mind because this experience has been fantastic.
"The atmosphere at Glastonbury is fantastic. We played the John Peel stage a few years ago which was amazing I hope the atmosphere on the main stage will be just as good."
The Earlies often use other musicians in their line-up, including Christian's brother Nicky and members of well-known East Lancashire outfit The Uptown Band, which is fronted by Christian's dad Joe.
Landlord Simon Scott said: "We often let the band rehearse when we are closed on a Monday.
"When they said they wanted to do a warm-up gig we jumped at the chance. Tickets sold really quickly."
