AN ALLEGED teenage rape victim said his head was "messed up" by the lack of love shown to him by his mum, a court heard.

Preston Crown Court had been told the boy was raped by a man at Blackburn's multi-storey car park when he was just 13 years old on June 12, 1999.

His alleged attacker, Suleman Vapiwala, 45, of Sussex Drive, Blackburn, has denied the charge and is on trial.

Vapiwala was arrested after police took a DNA sample during "a routine traffic stop" and linked it to the alleged offence eight years earlier.

Defence barrister Irshad Sheikh said the boy had felt "unloved" by his mum and went to live with his dad.

Mr Sheikh told the court: "But he couldn't control you, could he?"

Giving evidence the boy said: "My whole relationship with my mother was non-existent. She didn't show me love.

"When I moved to my dad's I had no contact with my mum.

"For a young child not having your mum there totally messed my head up.

"I loved my mum so much but didn't get any love back from my mum.

"It was difficult because my dad was trying to be a mum as well and I was rejecting that."

The jury heard that three weeks before the alleged rape the boy had "one of his many temper tantrums" and tried to attack his dad.

Referring to the alleged rape, Mr Sheikh asked the boy why he didn't scream and shout and threaten his alleged attacker.

"He wasn't holding you or dragging you so why didn't you just run away?"

The boy said he was "scared to death" as he kept messing with his pockets and thought he was going to hurt him.
