A COUNCILLOR could be getting on her bike to work after today, when she will race a cyclist to Nelson.
As part of Bike2Work week, Councillor Ann Kerrigan will travel by car, while cyclist Carl Boyces will use pedal power alone to get from Foulridge to Nelson during the morning rush hour.
The pair will set off from Foulridge Village Hall at 8.30am, and will be aiming to hit Nelson's Trafalgar car park at around 8.45am.
Coun Kerrigan will be fighting through traffic, while Mr Boyces will be using the newly-refurbished canal towpath, part of the national cycleways route, and it is hoped that the exercise will highlight the convenience of cycling.
