Clitheroe Castle Museum will close for redevelopment on July 1 and reopen in Spring 2009.
The closure is part of the £3.2m Clitheroe Castle Heritage Scheme that will see the Norman castle and grounds renovated.
There are reductions in the gift shop as a result of the closure.
