CCTV operators helped foil a gang armed with a machete and baseball bat from raiding guards delivering cash to a building society on Friday night.
Security officers from G4S were making a cash delivery to the Nationwide, Broadway, Accrington, just before 8.30pm, when a trio of armed robbers pounced.
The three men - armed with a machete and a baseball bat - were caught on the town's security cameras and police were immediately informed.
The trio ran off in the direction of Whalley Road.
Police are appealing for anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area to come forward.
