A VILLAGE post office will be on the move next month - but not very far.
Post Office Ltd has approved a proposal by the sub-postmaster to relocate Read Post Office 200 yards from 72a Whalley Road to the service station on the same road.
The exact date of the relocation will be announced in due course.
Field change adviser Ian Liley said: "The new branch will offer a number of customer benefits, including an open-plan counter with an improved retail offer, level access, space for a wheelchair, and off-road parking.
"Should there be a short break in service while the relocation takes place, people will be advised to use Padiham Post Office in Burnley Road, or Whalley Post Office in King Street."
