A SHOW organised by a Darwen family to raise money for a children's cancer charity had to be cancelled when comedian Bernard Manning fell ill.
Darwen Library Theatre was due to host the event last Friday but the star was struck down by illness and is recovering in hospital.
The event was organised by the family of Christo-pher Worden, 18, of The Meadows, who was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma in May 2006.
It aimed to raise funds for Caring for Children and Young People with Cancer, in the North West.
Christopher's treatment stopped on January 8 and he is now in recovery.
His father, Dave, 43, with friend Malcolm Brown, 46, of Bolton-by-Bowland, aim to raise £30,000 for the charity this year.
Any ticket holders are advised their £15 tickets will still be valid when the show is rescheduled.
