AN elderly man believed to be suffering with Alzheimer's disease has gone missing from Whitworth, police say.

John McDonald, 74, was last seen at his home address in Tonacliffe Road at around 5.45pm today.

He has been described by police as being about 5ft 6in tall and was last seen wearing a grey and white striped polo shirt with navy blue chinos and black shoes.

Inspectyor Ilyaf Mohmed of Lancashire Police said: "We are concerned for John's wellbeing and would urge anyone who knows where he might be to get in touch urgently."
