A TALENTED hairdresser has been chosen to style the queens of the catwalk at Paris Fashion Week.

Rebecca Moffatt says she can't wait to get her hands on the hair of models who will be strutting their stuff at one of the fashion world's most prestigious events.

But although Rebecca, 26, may be soaring to dizzy heights with her career, she hasn't forgotten her roots and still works for her mum Christine at her Waterfoot salon, Headmasters, where she began learning her trade at just 13.

Rebecca will jet to Paris with the GHD Directive art and creative team, which she joined in April after being chosen from 180 hopefuls.

This number had already been whittled down after thousands of people replied to an advert in a trade magazine.

Only 10 others were successful after the two-day selection event, which allowed Rebecca, who lives in Barnes Avenue, Rawtenstall, to show off her avant-garde style.

But only six from the 11-strong team have been selected for Paris.

She said: "It is fantastic opportunity. When GHD did New York Fashion Week at the beginning of the year they got to work with Eugene Solomon.

"He does a lot of big magazine work and it would be great to get the chance to work with him.

"They have not told us yet which designers we will be working with - but I don't mind, I would work with any of them!

"I am just so excited."

As well as the fashion weeks, the ghd team also does the hair of models used in TV and magazines campaigns as well as doing their own tours.

Rebecca took part in one in Leeds and Manchester just after she had joined and found herself styling hair in front of an audience of 500.

She is due to fly to Paris on July 3 and will spend four days there during the fashion week.
