A family escaped injury when a blaze broke out in their home sparked by defective wiring on a hot water heater.
Fire crews said they had been to the address in Ellison Fold Terrace previously to fit smoke detectors which alerted them to the fire yesterday morning at 6.30am.
None of the five family members were injured. Minor damage was caused to the airing cupboard and boiler.
