A DRINK-driver who got behind the wheel for the third time while over the limit had been upset as his child was up for adoption.
Burnley magistrates heard how Adam Baker, 27, was spotted driving erratically by police in the early hours in Colne and smelled of alcohol when officers spoke to him.
The defendant, of Chapelhouse Road, Nelson, admitted driving with excess alcohol and no insurance. He was bailed until June 26, for a pre-sentence report.
Elizabeth Read, prosecuting, said Baker, who had previously been banned for excess alcohol, told police he had recently got back his provisional licence.
Mark Williams, defending, said Baker had been drinking earlier and thought it was safe to drive. His judgement was clouded.
The defendant and his partner had had a child taken into care and had been told the child was going to be freed for adoption.
