A 20-YEAR-OLD university student made racist comments to police officers arresting him for being drunk and disorderly.
Blackburn magistrates heard one officer was kicked in the stomach as Sheher Noor lashed out as he was being put in the back of a van.
And he spoke to an Asian officer in Urdu and said to him: “Do something bro, you are Asian help me out.”
Noor, of Wycoller Avenue, Burnley, pleaded guilty to assaulting a police officer in the execution of his duty, being drunk and disorderly and racially aggravated threatening behaviour.
He was made subject to community supervision for 12 months with a 20 day rehabilitation activity requirement and 100 hours unpaid work.
He was ordered to pay £50 compensation to the officer who was assaulted and the one who was racially abused, £180 criminal court charge and £85 costs.
Catherine Allan, prosecuting, said police called to Astley Gate in Blackburn saw Noor shouting and screaming, waving his arms about and trying to hit another man. He was asked to stop swearing but refused and was told he was being arrested.
Gareth Price, defending, said his client had no previous convictions and the behaviour he displayed on the night was not his usual behaviour.
