THE funeral of tragic Burnley student Leon Atkinson was held yesterday in his home town.
Mourners turned out in force to say goodbye to Leon, 24, who was killed in an accident on the A59 in Osbaldeston on Thursday, May 3.
The funeral cortege left from Leon's family home in Talbot Drive, Briercliffe, before a service and interment at St James' Church, Briercliffe.
The crash happened outside the Bay Horse pub, Longsight Road, Osbaldeston.
The Peugeot 106 being driven by Leon, of Paulhan Street, Burnley, was struck by a Toyota Auris and a skip wagon opposite Abbot Brow in Osbaldeston.
Leon was doing a degree in sports science at the University of Central Lancashire, Preston.
