NEW Accrington Stanley owner Andy Holt said he took over the football club to keep it in business, not to make any money.
On Wednesday night a special meeting of shareholders in The Reds approved a deal for the 51-year-old owner of Altham’s What More UK to take a majority stake injecting up to £1.8 million.

Mr Holt said he hoped to put the iconic club on a secure financial footing for the first time in years, enabling it to plan for the future.
His appointment as a director was approved at the meeting at the club’s Livingstone Road ground.
Mr Holt said: “Whatever individual, company or other entity owns the club is largely irrelevant, because this isn’t a business venture.
“Has anyone ever made a profit out of Accrington Stanley?
“In 50 years I will be dust blowing in the wind. Hopefully our input will mean the club is not.
Manager John Coleman said: “There are exciting times ahead.”
