A TAXIDERMIST in Burnley is facing a series of charges over dealing in endangered species, including leopards, a snowy owl and sperm whale’s teeth.
Aaron William Halstead, 24, is also accused of illegally purchasing dolphin, jaguar and cheetah specimens, contrary to endangered species regulations, going back to 2013.

Halstead, of New Copy Barn, Glen View Road, Burnley, was accused of 10 offences when he appeared before Pennine magistrates. He was committed for trial to Burnley Crown Court and released on bail until September 21.
He is charged with two offences of offering leopard and snowy owl specimens for sale at Burnley.
Halstead also faces six allegations of purchasing specimens, including a snowy owl, sperm whale teeth, leopard skins, a jaguar, cheetah and dolphin.
He is also accused of selling sperm whale teeth specimens and a dolphin or porpoise skull.
