THERE'S something reassuring about a queue for a takeaway. If so many people are there, it must be good.
The Brownhll Chippy is both a fish and chip shop and a Chinese.
There were many Chinese dishes on offer but the smell of fish and chips was just too much, so two portions of each it was.
People moan that fish and chips are expensive - ours were £6 for two - but it remains one of the cheapest takeaways you can get.
The fish were large and lightly battered. Although the batter was good I was a bit disappointed with the fish which was a little dry.
The chips were plentiful and there were hardly any scraps in the large pile. With a crisp coating and "meaty" insides they appeared a little fresher than the fish.
When you're in the mood, you still can't beat a plate of fish and chips - the queue that formed behind me suggests that residents around the Brownhill Chippy know it.
