BLACKBURN with Darwen Council has signed up a to charter that pledges it to help to tackle climate change.
Council chiefs have committed to the Nottingham Declaration - regarded as the environmental benchmark for local government.
By signing, the council has agreed to actively tackle climate change in the area and work with others to reduce emissions country-wide. The council will now draw up a carbon management plan.
Coun Andy Kay, executive member for regeneration, said: "We are already doing things to reduce our carbon footprint but probably not enough."
