A BANNED and over the limit driver involved in a road smash has been told he will not be going to jail.
David Brown, 21, had been twice the legal limit and ran away after the collision. He was not insured either, Burnley magistrates heard.
Brown, of North Street, Colne, admitted driving with excess alcohol, using an uninsured vehicle, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, failing to stop and driving whilst disqualified, on March 25.
The defendant was bailed until April 18, for a pre-sentence report, and was told to expect a community order with supervision and unpaid work. He was given an interim ban.
The bench told him people could have been injured, but Brown co-operated with police after the incident.
