YOUNGSTERS taking part in an Easter egg hunt at Ewood Park were given a helping hand by Blackburn Rovers stars.
Defenders Grant Hanley and Tommy Spurr helped the children search the Championship side’s stadium for the treats.
Among those taking part were brothers Tom and Ben Robinson, of Blackburn, who collected a basketful of chocolate goodies each.
Tom, seven, said: “It was a great day and the best bit was finding the eggs.
“I also liked meeting the players and going to the stadium.”
Ben, nine, said: “I liked running around and getting all of the eggs.
“I collected eight eggs so I will be having lots of chocolate.
“I am a Rovers fan and I like to go to the matches with my dad and my brother.
“It was good being in the stadium.”
Children from across East Lancashire were encouraged to apply for their spot on the egg hunt.
Prizes were given to the children who created the best Easter bonnet to wear during the event.
Jack Wolfenden, five, of Rishton, and Olivia Higgins, eight, of Clitheroe, won giant Easter eggs for their efforts.
All of the participants were given the chance to meet the football stars who handed out signed photographs.
Mr Hanley said: “It was brilliant to spend time with the young fans and I hope they have a brilliant Easter with lots of chocolate.”
Mr Spurr said: “We were delighted that we could be part of this event and it was great to see the smiles on the kids’ faces.”
