GREAT Harwood’s Labour councillor Noordad Aziz has slammed the bullying of a Ukip candidate’s wife as ‘unacceptable’.
Ian Robinson told the Lancashire Telegraph he almost quit the election race after two men threatened his wife outside their home in Cliffe Lane earlier this month.
Cllr Aziz said: “We may disagree on many things but abusing family members of Ian Robinson and vandalising posters is not acceptable.”
Police said the two men were seen tearing down Ukip posters and replacing them with Labour posters.
Council leader Miles Parkinson (Labour), said: “ We do not condone any actions of individuals in this way.”
