SEVEN East Lancashire schools have been selected to receive a share of £33 million for improvements to buildings and expansion projects.
The schools along with 93 others have been selected by the Department for Education to receive the funding.

Education secretary Nicky Morgan and schools minister David Laws announced the funding but the exact allocation for each school has not been disclosed.
St Wilfrid’s CE Academy in Blackburn is set to use its allocated funding for emergency roof repairs while St Luke and St Philips CofE Voluntary Aided Primary School in Blackburn will use the money for fire risk assessment works.
Work to recover and refurbish flat roofs at Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School will be funded by the scheme as well as cladding replacement on the windows on the main building of St Mary’s College.
The Blackburn college will also use the money for remedial works to address damp problems.
Work to replace asbestos flooring at St Barnabas CE Primary School in Darwen will also be carried out and Clitheroe Royal Grammar School will carry out external repairs.
Colne Primet Academy is also set to use the money to demolish an unsafe derelict building.
Andrew Stephenson, MP for Pendle, said: “Families in East Lancashire deserve local schools with facilities that provide the best learning environment.
“With the lack of much needed support for our schools from the county council in Preston, these funds are very welcome.
“It is great news that, thanks to the difficult decisions this government has taken to deal with our deficit, it has been possible to fund this boost for Primet.
Education secretary Nicky Morgan said: “The money provided through the Condition Improvement Fund will help ensure that even more children have access to the best possible facilities.”
