EX-ENGLAND goalkeeper Rachel Brown-Finnis is set to turn her hand to management for a match honouring the contribution of a former European Cup-winning manager to the amateur game.
The Burnley-born stopper, who played for both Liverpool and Everton Ladies, will manage the Vintage Clarets side which takes on England Fans FC at Nelson’s Little Wembley on Sunday, April 5.

Bosses at the North West Counties side are aiming to erect a 150-seat covered stand in memory of Joe Fagan, who lifted the Football League First Division title alongside European honours with Liverpool in 1984.
Fagan began his managerial career with The Admirals, as a player-boss back in 1951, staying for two seasons before relocating to Rochdale and later Anfield.
The appeal for the stand at Victoria Park, known as ‘Little Wembley’ to East Lancashire football aficionados, hopes to generate £20,000.
Rachel said: “Being guest manager of the Vintage Clarets sounds like a tough first gig in management, but I’m certainly up for it!”
Before the run-out, the Clarets legends are also set to play a game against the All Star Charity XI, based in Crewe, at Alsager Town’s ground this Sunday, (Mar29) kicking off at 2pm.
The Burnley side was also involved last November with the fundraising game at Belvedere FC in honour of the late St Theodore’s sports teacher Mick Ennis, which saw the legends play three 30-minutes games against his old teams.
Admission to the Nelson game, which will kick-off at 4pm, will be £5 for adults and £3 for under-16s and concessions, with fans able to pick up tickets by calling 07765 240613 or by e-mailing adam@nelsonfc.com
