Sagar, 43, of Arnold Street, Accrington, pleaded guilty to stealing cleaning products worth £96 from Morrisons. He was given a conditional discharge for six months and ordered to pay £55 costs.
The court heard Sagar admitted stealing to sell to buy drugs.
Gareth Price, defending, said everything had been going well for his client since his last involvement with the courts in 2013.
“He had a job, his own accommodation and he was drug free,” said Mr Price. “He went into work on a Friday and at 4.30 was told the firm had gone into liquidation and he wouldn’t be getting paid. That setback led to a very brief lapse into drug use.”
