A MAN was treated in hospital after a bedroom fire in Nelson.
The resident, believed to be in his 50s, suffered the effects of smoke inhalation after a blaze at his home in Bevan Place on Sunday night. He was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital.
Two crews from Nelson fire station extinguished the flames after they were called out at 10.30pm.

Crew manager Mick Strickland said: “On arrival, crews were faced with a first floor bedroom fire involving the bed and furniture. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the first floor bedroom fire using a high pressure hose reel.
“The occupant was administered first aid by fire crews until the arrival of the ambulance service and taken to hospital. The occupants were alerted to the fire by a smoke alarm in the property.
