Hundreds attended the two-day event, organised by both Padiham Town Council and Irwell Works head brewer, Peter Booth, with the proceeds from the event donated to the Padiham Mayor’s Charity Fund.

Padiham group, The Flat Cap Pack, provided the entertainment on Saturday night.

Last year’s event was hailed as a great success which saw around 600 people attend.

Cllr Chris Smith, a member of the town council, said: “It was a fantastic event and is proving to be very popular.

“We got a great turnout last year and I think we have eclipsed that this time.

“I think we should keep the beer festival going because it is popular and draws a lot of people to the town. It has been established as a tradition now which is fantastic.

“The entertainment was very good this year, and I hope it carries on for many more years.”
