PENDLE MP Andrew Stephenson has asked the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs what its strategy is for tackling urban diffuse water pollution.
Conservative Mr Stephenson put the question forward and received a written answer from Dan Rogerson, the parliamentary under-secretary of state for the department.

He said: “The government’s role in tackling water pollution is centred on improving our understanding and then both facilitating action by others and taking action ourselves where appropriate.”
Mr Stephenson also asked when the strategy to tackle urban diffuse water pollution would be published.
Mr Rogerson added: “The responses we received through our consultation were very positive. We are using this information to develop an action plan.”
