RESIDENTS in Rishton are being given another chance to air their views about ambitious plans to develop the canalside at a consultation event set to take place next Wednesday, March 25.
Designers have drawn up multi-million pound plans for the stretch of the Leeds-Liverpool canal running from the end of Bridge Street to the high street.
Following on from a recent event, the plans will go on display and the public will then have the chance to voice their opinions about the emerging options for the development.

Council leader Miles Parkinson said: “There are some exciting ideas coming forward for the Rishton Canalside area and its future.
“We want to make sure as many people as possible come along to see the options and have their say about them.”
Housing and regeneration boss Cllr Clare Cleary said both leisure, retail, and privately-owned and rented homes could all be on the cards.
But one hiccup is the call for more social housing, which Cllr Cleary said the council does not want to see more of.
One of the key issues in the redevelopment project will be the derelict and demolished Britannia Mill site at the end of Bridge Street.
- Residents, local businesses and community groups are all welcome to go and view the exhibition and to have their say about the options from 2pm until 8pm at Rishton Conservative Club in Cliff Street.
