And after being kept in custody and fined by Coventry magistrates, the following day Andrei Alexandru Burnei wasted no time getting back to offending.

Two days later he was caught in Blackburn trying to steal £1,127 worth of vodka from Asda.
Burnei, 21, of Burnaby Road, Coventry, pleaded guilty to stealing alcohol from Asda. He was ordered to do 60 hours’ unpaid work and pay a £60 victim surcharge.
Karen Saffman, prosecuting, said a security officer was suspicious of Burnei and challenged him as he left the store. He ran off but was eventually detained after being cornered. His trolley was loaded with premium vodka and then covered over with a few other items.
“The value of his trolley load was extremely high,” said Mrs Saffman.
Jonathan Taylor, defending, said Burnei had come to the UK on the promise of work, which didn’t materialise.
