GARDENING equipment worth nearly £12,000 has been stolen from a garden centre in Salterforth.
A concrete statue and gardening tools were used to break into Salterforth Nurseries and Garden Centre in Moor Lane, overnight between Friday and Saturday.

A wheelbarrow and trolley were used to take away the goods which included two Stihl strimmers worth a total of £6,000, a Stihl hedgecutter with and extension bit valued at £3,000, two Stihl leafblowers with a combined value of £1,700 and a £500 Stihl chainsaw, all in orange and white.
Also taken was a large quantity of Hozelock equipment worth £500.
