LANCASHIRE Police has been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission after a man died the day after he was arrested.
Bryan May, 41, was killed in a blaze at his house in Princess Street, Nelson, on Saturday morning.
Officers confirmed they had arrested a man on Friday and that he had been bailed while an investigation was carried out.

Police said they would not confirm what Mr May had been arrested on suspicion of. However, neighbours said they had seen officers remove computer equipment from the address.
A police spokesman said: “We can confirm that a 41-year-old man from Nelson was arrested on March 13. He had been bailed pending further inquiries.
“This matter has been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission, as is routine.
“A post mortem examination will be carried out this week to try to establish the cause of death, but it is not being treated as suspicious. A file will be prepared for HM Coroner.”
