A MAN has died after a fire in a house in Nelson.
Police were called to Princess Street at 1.55am today after a neighbour had called the fire service having seen smoke coming from the house.
A man believed to be 41 years old was found dead, although identification was yet to take place this morning.
Duty inspector Mick Johnson said: "There will be a joint investigation by the police and Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service today."
The house has been cordoned off and police and fire investigators are on the scene.
It is not yet known if the blaze was suspicious.
