POLLING for the election for Blackburn with Darwen borough’s ‘youth MP’ has opened.
Five candidates are bidding take over from incumbent Harry Kay.
Voting by school and college students continues until Friday with the result on Monday.

St Marys College student Katheja Asif, current deputy youth MP, Hamza Khan (Witton Park Academy), Ibrahim Seedat (Blackburn College), Cecilia Adekoya (St Wilfrids C of E Academy) and Jessica Henderson (St Bedes RC High School) are standing.
The Youth MP attends an annual debate in the House of Commons and chaired by Speaker John Bercow.
Borough young people’s boss Cllr Damian Talbot said: “Ensuring our young people get the best possible start in life is at the top of the council priorities. It is really important we continue to encourage young people to represent the views of young people on the council’s executive board.”
