DARWEN MP Jake Berry has celebrated the 1,000th vote cast in his competition to crown the area’s best “pub and grub”.
The competition, running until March 27, and supported by local trade organisations, ISSL Web Design and Orbital Design and Print, asks local people to vote for their favourite pub, cafe or restaurant.

Prizes include lunch with Jake in Parliament, e-marketing sessions and business cards.
One lucky voter will also win a £50 tab at their favourite pub, restaurant or café.
Mr Berry said: “We are lucky to have so many wonderful pubs, restaurants and cafés that form the heart of our local communities – I launched this competition as it was about time we celebrated them.
“I am really pleased that so many people have got behind the competition.
“I would encourage as many people as possible to get voting so that they we can let our local pubs, cafés and restaurants know just how much we appreciate and support them.”
