RAIDERS targeted a business selling 4x4 vehicles, but left empty handed.
The incident at Windmill Land Rovers, in Preston New Road, Mellor, happened at 11.30pm on Tuesday, when the thieves used cutters to try to take off the wheel clamps holding the vehicles on the forecourt.
This is the latest raid in a spate of thefts and attempted thefts of the luxury cars.
Fourteen Land Rovers and Range Rovers, some worth £40,000, were taken across East Lancashire in the past month.
Police said in those cases, the crooks hacked into the cars’ diagnostic systems to disable locks and start the ignition.
A spokeswoman said: “I would urge Land Rover owners to park their vehicles overnight in garages where possible and look at visible deterrents such as steering wheel and pedal locks, as well as other security measures including diskloks and clutch claws.”
Anybody with information should call Lancashire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
