EAST Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust had one serious bed sore on its wards in January, it was which was reported on ward D3 at the Royal Blackburn Hospital.
The trust has a ‘zero tolerance’ policy on grade three and four bed sores, so the ward staff will now meet with hospital bosses to explain the incident.

However, there were just four bed sores, also known as pressure ulcers, of any grade recorded across the wards.
That figure shows an improvement on the December performance, when seven cases were reported in the hospital.
