At previous inspections the school has been rated as outstanding by Ofsted.

Lead inspector Louise Murphy said in her report: “The head teacher is highly ambitious for the school and her expertise is valued by staff and governors.

“Actions taken by school leaders including governors have led to the development of a strong new staff team in a short period of time.

“They have improved pupils’ achievement in reading, writing and mathematics.

“Attendance is consistently above national levels.

“Teaching is effective, because it is well led and managed. All staff know pupils well and provide tasks that build on what individual pupils know and can do.”
