A FORMER biology teacher has appeared before Blackburn magistrats charged with having a sexual relationship with a pupil more than 30 years ago.
Joseph Cheesbrough, 65, who taught at St Hilda's RC school in Burnley faces eight charges of indecent assault on the girl and two of buggery.

All the charges relate to the same girl who was aged 14 and 15 between August 1974 and August 1975 when the offences are alleged to have been committed.
Cheesbrough, of Gable Avenue, Cockermouth, Cumbria, was sent on bail to Burnley Crown Court where he will appear on December 1.
