AN East Lancashire MP has begged forgiveness for 'looking a bit daft' over the next few weeks as he grows a moustache for charity.
Rossendale and Darwen MP Jake Berry has joined the annual campaign by giving up shaving for a month to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK.
He said: "All of us will know someone who has been touched by cancer. However thanks to the amazing work of cancer charities, including those here in East Lancashire, we are making huge progress in the research and treatment of this disease.
"Unfortunately one of the most undetected cancers is prostate cancer.
"People are often not willing to be tested for or talk about this form of the disease and in 10 years time it is likely that prostate cancer will be the most common form of cancer in the UK.
"The Movember campaign has helped change the way we see men's health and I'm really proud to be part of it again this year.
"I will be raising awareness and funds for Prostate Cancer UK by growing a moustache throughout November, so I hope that you will forgive me for looking a bit daft over the next few weeks as I attempt to do my bit for such an important cause."
