EAST Lancashire solicitors have joined a campaign urging people to make a will.
Supporters of Will Aid's Make a Will Month are encouraging families to protect their loved ones with a proper will by asking for a donation to charity and waiving their usual fees.
The suggested donations - £95 for a single basic will or £150 for a pair of mirror wills - will then be shared among ActionAid, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, Age UK, NSPCC, Save the Children, Sightsavers, Scottish Catholic International Aid Fund and Trocaire.
Watson Ramsbottom's Blackburn, Darwen, Accrington and Great Harwood offices have signed up to the scheme, as has Turnerlaw in Preston New Road, Blackburn.
Shirley Marsland, Will Aid’s campaign manager said: “Last year £8m went to the government because people died without a will. Make sure that your final legacy isn’t a financial and emotional mess for your loved ones. Making a will is simple with a friendly Will Aid solicitor.
"This scheme only runs for the month of November, so you need to hurry to book your appointment as soon as possible.”
