PLACES are still available on a free health and safety course for farmers in Burnley and Todmorden which is being run next week.
Health and Safety Executive organisers say the awareness events have proved increasingly popular and 'could even be a lifesaver'.
The next session is on Tuesday at Longfield Farm in Todmorden and will be open to farmers either side of the Lancashire and West Yorkshire border.
A HSE spokesman said: "The half-day events which include practical demonstrations covering the everyday hazards faced by farmers, farming families and workers.
"They provide an excellent opportunity for those working on farms to get practical advice free of charge.
"We have run many awareness days over the years which have been attended by thousands of farmers throughout England, Scotland and Wales.
"If you are a family farmer, self-employed, or employ up to four people then these days are designed for you. In fact, independent research shows that 99 per cent of attendees said that they would recommend them to other farmers."
