COMMUNITY projects in Accrington have been invited to enter a competition to win a makeover.
Football League sponsor Johnstone’s Paint launched its Community Spirit campaign in the local area of all 48 clubs in this season’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.
Groups that serve the locality can apply at www.johnstonestrade.com/communityspirit.
As well as considering nominations submitted, Accrington Stanley will reflect on work they already undertake in the community and in conjunction with the Football League Trust to consider potential options.
A judging process will then take place to whittle the entries from all clubs down to four national finalists, with that shortlist going before a public vote to decide the overall winner.
Ben Wilde, brand and sponsorship manager of Johnstone’s Paint, said: “We have no restrictions on the nominations we are looking for. It could be a rundown scout hut, a community centre or an amateur boxing club.
“The only proviso must be that the facility or group serves or provides a benefit to the community.”
Nominations must be received by Friday, November 21.
Ben added: “The Community Spirit campaign will provide the opportunity for one lucky facility or group to enjoy a complete decorating makeover from Johnstone’s Paint and we are looking forward to sifting through what we are sure will be many deserving nominations.”
